There are two ticket types. The first is the “Amateur” Ticket (the most popular). The early bird fee is $50 per player. The early bird discount is December 1, 2023 only. The Amateur Ticket price will increase to $55 per player on December 2. This ticket includes 9 holes of golf, the official chilly open hat, access into the 19th Hole Tent where you can enjoy all-you-can-eat chili, live music, prizes and give-a-ways. AND AS MUCH FUN AS YOU CAN IMAGINE. The second ticket type is the “PRO” ticket which is $99 per player. Limited quantity available! This ticket includes everything the Amateur ticket includes + 6Smith Breakfast Buffet, Guaranteed Choice of preferred tee time, Exclusive Limited Edition Chilly Open Hat and Heated Indoor Checkin.

We supply the tennis balls and YOU bring the golf club of your choice. We’ve seen anything from a hockey stick, to a tee-ball bat to a golf club.

Golfers are always encouraged to dress according to the theme. GO ALL OUT! The 2024 theme is “Born in ’84!” Just look at pictures we post by following our @WayzataChillyOpen Facebook and Instagram Pages.

If you can’t find friends or family to snag these tickets, you’re welcome to comment on one of our social media posts @WayzataChillyOpen (instagram and facebook). Often times other golfers are interested in adding more players to their team and will buy them directly from you. After you sell the tickets, email info@wayzatachamber.com with the name/email of the new golfer(s) that will be taking your ticket(s).

Teams are NOT limited to a foursome! The more the merrier! Invite your friends, family members, clients, co-workers, neighbors, distant relatives, high school classmates you haven’t seen in 15 years… anyone who’s up for a great time! You can buy as many tickets as you’d like until the tee time is sold out. Each player on your team must have a ticket. 1 ticket = 1 player.

Unfortunately, no. The Wayzata Chilly Open Golf Tournament is a fundraiser. So first and foremost it’s important to understand that this event raises funds to support the Wayzata area community. This is a ticketed event. If you are not planning to golf, but still plan to hang out with friends and be part of the “chilly open experience” we ask that you buy a golfer ticket. There are many golfers who don’t golf at all, but they still purchase a ticket because they want to be on the course, and interact with sponsors, friends, and other golfers. The golfer ticket also automatically gets you access into the 19th Hole Tent where there is live music and all-you-can-eat chili AND you get a really cool hat. Tickets range from $50-$99 per person (until the event sells out) – well worth it!

We cannot block the lake access to the public and ask non-golfer spectators to respect the use of the courses. If you just want to walk around and “see” it, please respect the golfers and stay outside of the courses. Families with young children, please be aware that this event is primarily an adult atmosphere.

The Hennepin County Water Patrol and the City of Wayzata prohibit the selling and/or serving of alcoholic beverages at the Chilly Open. Therefore, it is a BYOB event. Think of it as boating on the lake in the summer. You can bring your own, but you can’t buy it. Please also note that the City of Wayzata prohibits open alcoholic beverages in all public areas. This includes the Wayzata Beach and parking lot (or anywhere off the Lake). That being, please discard all alcoholic beverages while leaving the ice. Do not drink and drive. Use a designated driver or tax. To summarize, lets be respectful of the lake and Wayzata so we can continue to have this event for many years to come.

You may consume alcohol at this event if you are over 21 years of age.

The Wayzata Chilly Open is on it’s 40th year! This winter festival has been a significant fundraiser for the Wayzata Area Chamber as it supports many of the initiatives for the organization. Thank you for supporting the Wayzata Area Chamber and our local business community!

Is the sky blue? Of course we have chili at the Wayzata Chilly Open! Over 10 restaurants will compete for this year’s trophy and golfers get to sample them all! For a list of participants, please visit our “Chili Cook-off” page. We have not offered a 19th Hole Tent access ticket the past few years due to record sellouts of the golfers. An additional purchase of the 19th Hole ticket is contingent on the number of restaurants that donate chili and food for our golfers to enjoy – we have over 2,000 mouths to feed!

Online! Ticket sales begin December 1. You will receive a golfer confirmation email shortly after you register. A couple days prior to the event you will receive an official golfer confirmation packet, with details regarding your preferred tee time, rules, tips, check-in process, etc.

This is a PRE-TICKETED event ONLY! We cannot “reserve” tickets, as this event sells out quickly.

You won’t just see crazy golfers out on the ice, some teams event take it to the next level and bring sleds to haul their equipment! Follow our @WayzataChillyOpen Facebook and Instagram pages for some amazing examples

Typically, golfers enjoy their time out on the course as they are meeting new friends and hanging with our awesome sponsors who provide additional games at each hole, so we estimate about an hour and a half.
